For over $30 million, Pappajohn founded and funded the John Pappajohn Entrepreneurship Centers at five different institutions and colleges in Iowa.

She earned a B.S. in Home Economics from the University of Minnesota in 1955, and following graduation, she worked as a kitchen design consultant for Northern States Power in Minneapolis.
